The question you dread from your children!!!!

So, lately I have been trying to work on my relationship with Eli. I just want him to open up more and talk to me about anything. Well maybe I got more than I bargained for. A couple of weeks ago I was asking Eli about school. He began to tell me about a few boys in his class that he referred to as "naughty". I asked him why he thought they were naughty? He said that they talk about this girl in his class in a not so nice way. I wanted to figure out what he was trying to tell me so I preyed a little more. He said they talk about what the want to do with her. As all of you moms can imagine I was shocked to hear this from my nine year old. So I preyed a little more and he said come on mom can't you figure it out. It was hard for me to ask but I said do you mean they said they want to have sex with her and he said yes! Shocking and scary.

Then out of no where he looks me square in the face and says, Mom have you ever had sex before? ............. I wanted to be honest so I said yes. He looked at me and said you are so disgusting, so I said the only thing I could think of and that was dad did it too! Followed by, I had to that is how a baby is made.

So after sharing the discussion with Jason, he called Eli into our room and asked how does this make you feel and Eli said, " I am highly disturbed by both of you!" Jason tells him that is good you should feel that way at nine years old, however after your mission you will marry a nice young lady and you will feel differently then. Eli said," No I won't I am never ever doing that!!"

So I had to blog about it so later in life I can remind all of us of this very statement. This was such a reminder to me of how much I still have to learn and what is yet to come as a mother.

Kids are so funny!

Jason taught the Family Home Evening lesson tonight. It was about being a disciple of Jesus Christ by being kind to others. Jason did a great job. At the end of the lesson Jason stated that Jesus loves us unconditionally. Then he said," Jesus loves us even if we have character flaws and physical flaws like: weird, rusty old bikes, bad breath, pimples, and deformed hands. Out of the blue, Jaci chimes in and says Jesus even loves you if you have warts. (Jaci has a wart on her hand.) That girl cracks me up and I love her.

Marathon in Sedona, AZ

Sedona, AZ is so beautiful. We went there to run a race. Jason did the Marathon (26.2miles). I was going to run the Half Marathon with my brother and 3 of Jason's sisters. However a couple weeks before the race I injured my hip. I decided I would walk the 5K and take pictures. So here they are for your viewing enjoyment.

Sort of Failing at the New Year Resolution

Ok so I knew this would be a challenging resolution cuz I so don't do the computer thing. I have been so sick for the month of Feb. in fact I counted my healthy days and the total was 4. So I know this post is generic and I do have a lot to catch up on. I have set a goal to post good stuff next week.

Here is a funny from my Eli. He was reading a DVD case and said,"Dad who is "Hug" Jackman?" Jason and I laughed and said," it is Hugh Jackman." Eli said that is the dumbest name ever, Why would you name someone that?

I didn't say it out loud but I thought when you are as hot as he is it doesn't really matter what your name is:)
